Montessori
Our Montessori pre-school program (ages 3-6), offers the benefits of Montessori education while adhering to ILM Academy's Vision and Mission. Dr. Montessori gave the world a scientific method, practical and tested, for bringing forth the very best in young human beings. She taught how to respect individual differences, and to emphasize social interaction and the education of the whole person rather than the teaching of a specific body of knowledge. At ILM, we believe the observation and the meeting of needs are continual and specific for each child. When physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional needs are met, children glow with excitement and the develop a drive to play and work with enthusiasm, to learn, and to create. They exhibit a desire to teach, help, and care for others and their environment. The Montessori method of education is a model which serves the needs of children of all levels of mental and physical ability as they live and learn in a natural, mixed-age group which is very much like the society they will live in as adults.
'Bambinos' – Montessori Toddlers Program 20 months to 3-year-olds
ILM's toddler program 'Bambinos' offers three, four-, or five-day enrollment options for 20 months to 3-year-olds. Committed, nurturing, and experienced teachers implement Montessori philosophy and curriculum for toddlers. An integral part of toddlers' development is strengthening their fine motor and gross motor skills, fostering cognitive and language development, and developing their social skills. Bambinos provide an environment that promotes independence, movement, and coordination, setting the foundation to develop toddlers' focus and concentration. Toddlers learn to care for themselves, care for others, and care for the environment at a very young age. The loving, tender, and Islamic atmosphere puts the parents at ease and prepares their children to transition to Primary Montessori or PreK programs.

Primary Montessori Program 3-6 year-olds
ILM Academy's MACTE certified teachers provide the benefits of Montessori education in the Primary Montessori program, designed for 3–6-year-olds while adhering to ILM Academy's Vision and Mission. Dr. Montessori gave the world a scientific, practical, and tested approach. Montessori's theory of 'Absorbent mind' is the core element of the program that caters to children's emotional and psychological needs. Her philosophy is to respect individual differences in children and provide an environment to flourish these differences into unique strengths. Students follow the kinesthetic approach of learning that emphasizes the scientific teaching method in areas such as practical life, sensorial, math, language, and cultural subjects. Montessori materials provide concrete to abstract learning and are always accessible, attractive, and geared for a child's success. Activities are changed in response to children's need for variety and challenge as they grow and learn.
Elementary Montessori Program 6-9-year-olds
Certified Montessori Elementary Teachers continue to implement Montessori education to an advanced level in ILM Academy's Elementary Montessori program. It is also a mixed-aged program for 6-9-year-olds where students direct their attention to lesson mastery, independence, and building a love of learning with rapid intellectual growth as they acquire the ability for logical thinking. They exhibit a desire to teach, help, and care for themselves, others, and their environment. They explore the academic world through discovery and experimentation and increase their knowledge through reading, mathematics, creative writing, research methods, science, botany, zoology, anatomy, geography, geology, history, art, and physical education. The kinesthetic approach of learning also emphasizes the 'Tarbiyah' of the young Muslims rather than teaching subjects only. Elementary Montessori students are encouraged to be inquisitive. They practice and research historical, scientific, artistic, and cultural activities. Information is collected from various literature, experiments, art projects, media resources, and field studies.
